Becoming a New Client

Michael Hadt, Wealth Advisor, AIF

We listen before we advise.

Our client relationships always begin with an in-depth conversation as listening provides the foundation for the advice we provide. After we develop a solid understanding of each client’s unique goals, investing experience and comfort level with financial concepts we design a detailed strategy outlining how investment assets and financial habits can be pursued to achieve long term success.

In our initial meeting we will take the time to introduce you to Oak Partners and the investment team. We will answer any and all questions regarding our firm and the manner in which we conduct business with our clients. Then we spend time asking questions about your financial situation and your goals and objectives for the long term. Because we are only now getting to know you, no investments solutions will be presented at this meeting. If you are comfortable with our team and we feel we can be of assistance we will present ideas in the next meeting – the proposal meeting.

During the proposal meeting, we will begin by answering any questions you may have from our previous meeting. Next, we will outline the specific manner in which we will assist you to pursue your financial goals. We will discuss specific investment strategies, complete a retirement projection analysis (if necessary), and review costs and expenses associated with our services. If you are satisfied with our suggestions and wish to move forward we will schedule an on-boarding meeting.

Our on-boarding meeting can be accomplished in-person or virtually using technology such as ZOOM or DocuSign. In this meeting, Lisa Batchelder, Director of Services, will assist you in establishing the necessary accounts with our broker dealer and custodian, LPL Financial. We will assist in completing the necessary account transfers, rollovers, or other paperwork that comes with such a transition. We pride ourselves on being a concierge full-service firm, so I believe you’ll find this process concise and streamlined.

Finally, once the accounts have been established and populated with the investment strategy that we have previously agreed upon we will host an orientation meeting with each client. In this meeting we will review the investment statements you have received from LPL Financial. We will establish online access so you can view your account and its activity at any time. And we will review the account and any upcoming changes we foresee. After the orientation meeting, we will establish a regular pattern of upcoming review meetings that are specifically tailored to each client’s needs and wishes.
